Intertextuality
How does post-modernism come about?
- The Experimental stage starts to establish trends
- The Cannon stage works within the trends to fix them into our cultural understanding
- The Post-modernism stage looks at the trends and manipulates them, adds other things in and makes something new
Different types of intertextuality
- Homage: Imitation is the highest form of flattery
- Pastiche: Using the imagery of one text to make a comment about another
- Parody: Satirising something else
